Gung Hay Fat Choy Everyone! (Happy New Year in Chinese)It's a time for de-cluttering, deep cleaning, family and friends, and good luck and prosperity for the new year. Red is a good luck color. Mirrors, firecrackers and Lion Dancers scare evil spirits away. Red envelopes are given out to children and offerings are made to ancestors. 2014 is the year of the Wooden Horse. Do you want to be a part of the celebration? Don't miss the Chinese New Year Parade Sat. Feb. 15th in Chinatown or on your T.V.

Important Dates to Remember:
Sharing is caring, we can all play together.
  • Mon, Feb. 17th - Closed for President's Day

Quick Checklist. Have you....?
  1. Submitted a current copy of your child's Immunization Record?
  2. Returned Jamaroo Kids waiver?
  3. Thought about Summer Break? (2 families have stated that the first two weeks of August would work best for them)

You may have noticed that we have a # or Letter of the Day on our calendar this month. On those days we will work closely with the # or Letter of the day. Please feel free to bring something to school that day, it can be something that starts with the letter or has that many items in or on it. Picking something out the night before gives you the opportunity to help your child identify the number, letter, the amount or sound the letter makes. Don't forget to also bring in something to share on Share Days.
